Dr. Arturo Macchi

Arturo Macchi has been a Professor in Chem. & Biol. Eng. at U.Ottawa since 2002. Research interests are in fundamental and applied multiphase reaction engineering. Current projects involve the hydrodynamics of heavy oil hydroprocessors, synthesis of gas hydrates for transporting natural gas, and CO2 capture systems from fossil fuel based hydrogen/power/steam production, such as calcium looping, chemical looping combustion and oxy-fuel combustion. He collaborates with academic, government and industrial research institutions. He has supervised above 25 graduate students to completion; two Ph.D. students obtained faculty positions in Canada.
